The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Panel Beater to join the team at Wales Adelaide.

Role responsibilities

  1. Damage Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of damaged heavy vehicles, identifying areas requiring repair, replacement, or restoration and determining the scope of work needed.
  2. Metal Shaping and Repair: Utilize specialized tools such as hammers, dollies, and hydraulic equipment to skillfully reshape, repair, and manipulate metal panels to their original contours.
  3. Welding and Fabrication: Perform expert welding and fabrication tasks to repair or replace severely damaged sections of heavy vehicle panels, ensuring structural integrity and precise fitment.
  4. Body Filler Application: Apply body filler to address minor dents, creases, and imperfections, skillfully blending and sanding to achieve a smooth and seamless finish.
  5. Frame Alignment: Ensure proper frame alignment and structural integrity by employing precision techniques and utilizing specialized equipment.
  6. Panel Replacement: Remove, replace, and install heavy vehicle panels as needed, ensuring proper fitment and alignment.
  7. Priming and Surface Preparation: Prepare repaired panels for painting by sanding, cleaning, and applying appropriate primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
  8. Collaboration: Work closely with spray painters, auto electricians, and other team members to coordinate repair projects and ensure a seamless workflow.
  9. Quality Control: Thoroughly inspect completed repairs to verify adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and the desired level of finish.
  10. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repair procedures, materials used, and any additional recommendations for future work.
  11. Safety Adherence: Comply with safety protocols, utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure a safe work environment.
