About the Opportunity 

The Senior GCP Cloud Platform Engineer will focus on Software Engineering best practice for Cloud Platform Engineering. This role involves providing guidance to enable Australia Post to lead the industry in GCP Platform Engineering best practices. This opportunity requires in depth experience with GCP platforms in order to support other engineers.

 

What you’ll deliver with us 

Reporting directly into the Cloud Platform Manager you will remediate vulnerability and security concerns within the Google Cloud Platform. You will be responsible for designing, building and implementing Cloud Platform solutions whilst considering the endorsed architecture patterns to ultimately support business outcomes. Providing technical leadership in design, coding and configuration are a vital part of your position.

 

You’ll also   

  • Provide thought leadership and implement best practice automation on cloud, DevOps techniques to design, implement and secure effective solutions 
  • Utilise your knowledge of GCP technology and services to influence GCP product roadmap decisions
  • Define and publish cloud services to impact delivery speed across all workloads in the cloud
  • Own the Detailed designs for the Google Cloud Platform whilst considering security and compliance engineering concepts
  • Be familiar with other cloud platforms ideally including AWS

 

About you  

You will be comfortable operating at a senior level in the Engineering team, collaborating with architects, engineers and customer experience experts. Working collaboratively is a strength of yours and you are able to drive Agile ways of working across broader teams.

 

You’ll also need   

  • Demonstrated ability in developing and managing software/platform solutions
  • Proven experience within GCP building and supporting secure code pipelines, CI/CD, using GitLab
  • Proficiency with at least 1 development languages such as Golang, Open Policy Agent, YAML, JSON or Terraform
  • Seasoned DevOps practitioner with an understanding of the cloud infrastructure level including VPCs, networks, security or Identity
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to employ technical knowledge to resolve complex issues
