The Opportunity
Join a dynamic team at the forefront of transforming data governance and analytics within a leading Agency. As a Business Analyst specializing in Data Governance, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data management practices, collaborating with both internal teams and external partners. This role offers an exciting chance to leverage your expertise in requirements gathering, solution implementation, and stakeholder management to drive impactful change and enhance the Agency's investment data assets and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to capture and document requirements for enhancing the Agency's investment data and analytics assets. Translate business needs into technical requirements and act as a subject matter expert on data governance processes across the Agency's landscape. Ensure timely delivery of requirements and provide support for testing activities.
2. Solution Implementation and Change Management: Validate and implement change management approaches to successfully roll out data governance initiatives. Support change management planning, facilitate workshops to design target operating models, and assist in planning the transition to business as usual (BAU).
3. Subject Matter Expertise: Provide expertise in data governance, including systems capabilities, business rules, and data repositories. Engage with technology providers to maintain data governance tools and respond to service requests. Stay abreast of market trends in investment data and analytics products.
4. Partner and Stakeholder Management: Manage engagement with service providers and monitor SLAs. Liaise with stakeholders to understand data needs and advocate for effective data management practices. Collaborate with strategic partners to influence future data governance technologies and engage with external bodies to shape industry standards.
About You
• Qualifications: You are a qualified technology professional with relevant experience, ideally holding a Business Analysis certification such as CBAP and accreditation with a data industry body.
• Experience: You bring significant experience in IT delivery roles, particularly in business analysis and requirements gathering. Your expertise spans the software delivery lifecycle, including agile methodologies and user acceptance testing. You possess strong communication and consulting skills, with a focus on delivering outcomes.
• Skills: You have experience with tools such as the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence), self-discovery, and visualization technologies (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik), and data governance platforms like Precisely, Collibra, or Alation.
