About the Job

We are seeking CHRISTMAS CASUALS- energetic dog and cat lovers during our busy Christmas/school holidays to join our team of passionate Pet Care & Animal Attendants at our Heathcote Pet Hotel & Doggy Daycare located in Sydney.

Training will be scheduled in late November/Early December and work throughout December and January including Christmas/New Years.

Hours of work:

  • Shifts are rostered between the hours of 7am and 3pm
  • Occasionally hours may be from 11am to 7pm
  • Christmas Day hours are 5am to 1pm

Key accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Animal welfare,
  • Cleaning
  • Customer service.

Successful candidates will be responsible for the provision of high-quality pet welfare and providing care for both boarding pet guests and doggy daycare guests which includes cleaning kennels, feeding pets, basic washing/grooming, and exercising of pets. Our Petcare/Animal Attendants also provide excellent customer service when engaging with our clients at pick up and drop off.

About You

You are reliable, motivated and hardworking, with genuine affection for cats and dogs. To be a high performer in this role, you will be:

  • Experienced in caring for cats and dogs - pet-sitting, dog-walking, vet clinics, doggy daycares, boarding kennels or catteries (preferred).
  • Available to work rotating rostered shifts, 38 hours per week throughout December and January.
  • MUST be available to work Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and Australia Day.
  • Flexible and able to cover planned leave, as well as unplanned absences, sometimes at short notice.
  • Prepared to jump at the chance to help others in your team.
  • Able to work at a brisk pace and carry out tasks to required timeframes to satisfy productivity expectations.
  • Able to work independently, and willing to ask for guidance for more complex matters.
  • Passionate about companion animals.
  • A good communicator and positive person who enjoys teamwork.
  • A licensed driver with regular access to a car (and clean driving record) to get to/from work.
  • Willing and able to adhere to Hanrob Pet Hotels' operating procedures and work health and safety requirements at all times.

IMPORTANT: This is an active and physical role working across the Pet Hotel. In addition to office-based work, the incumbent will be required to work indoors and outdoors (sometimes in inclement weather conditions, and in close proximity to cats and dogs, on their feet for a significant portion of their day. They must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and restrain animals up to 50kg on leads, communicate, speak, and interact with team members, customers, internal and external stakeholders, and members of the public in person.
