The Role  

In this role you will pitch and create stories across radio and online for the triple j Hack program. On a daily basis, you will research, prepare and present accurate, concise and clear stories for Hack radio, including conducting interviews and editing final pieces using natural sound and music, to inform & entertain the audience. 

The Job 

  • Produce briefs and scripts about key stories.
  • As directed, convert radio stories to online, social media and video for triple j and other ABC sites.
  • As required, travel to regional areas to produce longer form multimedia content for Hack.
  • Participate in key Hack campaigns and co-productions across triple j or within the ABC. 

About You 

We are seeking a creative reporter with proven experience in developing and producing creative, accessible and relevant program content including live and packaged field reports for radio and online. The candidate would have a creative approach to story construction and delivery for radio and online, as well as a strong and detailed knowledge of key issues that are relevant to and affect the 18–24 audience. 

You’ll have: 

  • Experience in radio with sound editorial skills and judgement. An accomplished ability to break original stories and initiate, research and conduct interviews.
  • Accomplished knowledge of web publishing/multimedia, including digital storytelling, writing for the web and using social media.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. A proven team player with the ability to go it alone when necessary with strong interpersonal and motivational skills.
