About the role

We are currently searching for Orica’s next Material Handler/Magazine Keeper at our Helidon manufacturing site.

Reporting to the Warehouse & Distribution Specialist / Lead, the Material Handler/Magazine Keeper ensures the efficient and effective operations in Magazine areas to dispatch and receive finished products, detonators, and raw materials in accordance with the Australian Explosives Code for the transport of explosives by road and rail and established Safety, Health, & Environment (SHE) and Quality standards.

What you will be doing

  • Ensure that picking, packing, loading, and unloading activities are conducted safely as per schedule;
  • Work with Inventory Coordinators to facilitate scheduled activities;
  • Monitor explosives limits within the Magazines as required by Explosives Storage Requirements;
  • Complete inventory movements and transactions using handheld scanners and SAP;
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory record keeping.

What you will bring

  • Knowledge in Warehousing / Inventory Control / Magazine operation (Desirable);
  • Ability to gain knowledge of SHE policy and regulations governing the Australian Explosives Code for the transport of explosives by road;
  • Basic knowledge of ergonomics and manual handling techniques;
  • Forklift licence;
  • Ability to gain or have MR/HR licence;
  • Exposure to SAP or similar Inventory systems is an advantage.
