The role is based in Dandenong and reports to the Installations Team Leader. The purpose of the job is to install, test, and commission cranes, hook lifts, Moffett forklifts, and other hydraulic mechanical equipment.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Welding subframes and components Relocating chassis components
  • Machine modifications such as bin rest, hook height modifications
  • Programming of cranes and hooklifts
  • Stability testing of cranes
  • Auto electrical and mechanical work. 

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Formal trade qualification (Truck Mechanic – Boiler maker - Fitter & or Turner)
  • Experience with mig welding techniques (Will need to pass a weld test)
  • Be able to understand and test electrical and hydraulic circuits
  • Experience working with trucks / cranes / heavy equipment
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience working unsupervised
  • Effective time management skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Willing to undergo training
  • Sound analytical and numeracy skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (ability to deal with all stakeholders in the business)   Customer orientated and relationship building
  • Team player
  • Ensure that assets of the company in your control (vehicle, mobile phone, material etc) are maintained and kept in good condition and in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
