ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

Play a critical role in ensuring that all aspects of the Zero-Emission Bus projects, including the construction, installation, and commissioning of electrical infrastructure, as well as the deployment of battery electric buses, adhere to the highest standards of health, safety, environmental protection and quality. This is a fixed term contract planned for completion on 30 September 2025.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES 

  • Implement comprehensive HSEQ management systems and procedures and ensure that all project activities comply with relevant regulations, standards and client requirements. 
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for project activities, identify mitigation measures to minimise risks and provide guidance and support to project teams in implementing risk controls and safety measures. 
  • Investigate project incidents, accidents and hazards / near misses to determine causes and corrective actions.  
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, specifications, and safety standards. 
  • Deliver HSEQ training programs for project personnel, subcontractors and other stakeholders, including site inductions. 
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements throughout the project lifecycle and implement measures to minimise project environmental impacts. 
  • Establish quality assurance and control procedures to ensure project deliverables meet specified requirements and standards. 
  • Conduct inspections and audits to verify the quality of workmanship and materials and facilitate the resolution of quality and non-conformance issues.  

 

ABOUT YOU 

  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations and best practices, as well as the ability to implement effective HSEQ management systems. 
  • Strong knowledge of relevant health, safety, environmental regulations and quality standards. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills. 

 

HIGHLY DESIREABLE SKILLS 

  • Project management expertise in the construction, engineering or transportation industry. 
  • A bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or related field. 

 

DESIREABLE SKILLS 

  • Advanced degree and relevant certifications.
