The Role
The Project Controller position will directly report to the EL 1 Project Controls Manager for AIR7000 Phase 2 including the P-8 Capability Assurance Program.

The position will perform complex project planning, integration, governance and assurance work with a multi-discipline team of Commonwealth and contractor personnel.

The Project Controller will lead the Governance and Assurance function for assigned project(s). 

Key duties include:

Setup appropriate frameworks to review and monitor contractor performance Coordinate project performance and identify the need for change Develop and implement project briefs and reports for senior management Identify risks, uncertainties and opportunities and action to improve project outcomes Work collaboratively, provide constructive feedback, and recommend solutions This position requires very regular use of complex schedule applications.

This position will be required to access US export controlled materiel and therefore applicants will be requested to disclose any dual citizenship with another country during the recruitment process. Dual citizens may be subject to further assessment and appointment to this position will be conditional upon approval to access US controlled export material be in accordance with the United States Arms Export Control Act.

About our Team
The Surveillance and Response Systems Program Office (SRSPO) ensures the availability and performance of highly complex surveillance and response airborne and related systems for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) – including the P-8A Poseidon. 

SRSPO also acquires and supports common Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (ALSE) used on air vehicles operated by the RAAF, Navy and Army. We also support the MQ-4C Triton, a new remotely piloted high altitude long endurance aircraft system.

At SRSPO we are passionate about working collaboratively with our stakeholders and industry partners to ensure the necessary acquisition, sustainment and regulatory requirements are fulfilled. We do this to support the war fighter and achieve the Department of Defence’s strategic and operational objectives.

 Our ideal candidate will be a dedicated team player, with an understanding of Project Management methodology. You will have experience in project controls, management or scheduling for an acquisition project.
