Next Step Facilitator

The Disability Trust has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and proactive individual to join our team in Nowra on a full-time basis. Working within NDIS frameworks, in the Next Step Facilitator position you will guide and mentor people with disability into employment opportunities through Person-Centered Plans that are in line with their strengths, goals, and choices.

We are looking for someone who will work closely with participants and their support networks to assist to develop and implement an employment pathway, and to coordinate day-to-day employment supports to find and maintain employment opportunities in the open market and access meaningful work experience or volunteer work opportunities for their participants. You will play a vital role in ensuring young individuals can achieve success in their employment journey by supporting them in gaining employment through providing meaningful, individualised capacity building activities so that individuals can discover and work towards their employment or tertiary goals.

 The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Coordinate and provide support to participants and their families as they transition into employment.
  • Identify and organise work experience placements and job opportunities when appropriate and in accordance with participant's needs and employment goals.
  • Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail in identifying an individuals employment goals. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships within the community such as schools as well as employment and business support services.
  • Team player, with the skills to lead, coach and mentor a team of Support Workers.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of participants and employees.
  • Previous experience in a Teacher's Aide or similar role will be highly regarded.

If successful, you will be required to provide evidence of at least two (2) doses of a COVID-19 vaccination, and working rights checks including an NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and valid Drivers Licence prior to commencing employment.
