What’s on offer?

Fulton Hogan’s Tasmanian team are going through a very exciting period of growth, no more so than the recently awarded Northeast Tasmania Road Maintenance contract on behalf of the Department of State Growth.

Fulton Hogan is delivering a network wide maintenance contract of 1300km of State Roads Network, including a small number of unsealed roads in the North East corner of Tasmania which includes the following:

  • Reactive routine maintenance and rapid response including pothole repairs, roadside furniture reinstatement, footpath repairs and drain cleaning.
  • Preventative pavement maintenance programs such as asphalt resurfacing and rehabilitation, and unsealed road and road shoulder grading.
  • Amenity improvement programs including grass mowing, weed spraying, and street and footpath sweeping.

Fulton Hogan is currently looking for Team Leader based in our Launceston and surround Depots who will be responsible for overseeing and supervising all aspects the Maintenance Crews and Inspectors on a daily basis, with an overall aim of ensuring both client and community expectations are met.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise teams of maintenance crews and inspectors to achieve positive project outcomes by ensuring staff and contractors are appropriately inducted, trained and licenced to perform all works in a safe, effective and high-quality manner in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Understand and interpret activity specifications, maintenance programs, enterprise agreements and work orders to ensure works are carried out in accordance with organisational needs.
  • Effective rostering and scheduling of staff, vehicles and mobile plant to ensure agreed maintenance programs and rapid response requirements are appropriately resourced.
  • Ensure the depot is sufficiently stocked with all required materials, signs and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

How you’ll connect to the role?

  • 5 years’ experience working in road maintenance or transferrable industry
  • Previous people management experience essential
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Hold a Construction Induction Card (White Card)

The pre-employment process will involve a police check and a medical check including drug and alcohol screening.
