Our client is a global leader in urban and interurban transport, with operations in 15 countries and over 27,000 employees. They specialise in operating, maintaining, and consulting on transport networks, aiming to provide reliable and efficient solutions worldwide.
In Australia, they are part of a consortium partnering with the NSW Government on a major metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney, delivered under a Public-Private Partnership model to boost the region's economy.

Role

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Contract Management Lead will predominantly be responsible for the management of the upstream O&M contract for delivery of Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport project.
This role requires critical interaction with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that contractual obligations are met and that the projects achieve financial and commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee contract negotiations, administration, and compliance to ensure alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the main client, partners, and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Lead communication of key project risks and revenue opportunities to executive leadership
  • Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks across the project portfolio. 
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the company's interests.
  • Negotiate complex and high-value contract modifications
About You

You have extensive experience in contract management with exposure to large Infrastructure projects, and a successful track record in delivering projects. You hold a relevant degree in Business, Law, Engineering, or a related field, with additional qualifications in contract or project management being advantageous. You possess strong commercial acumen, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to analyse complex issues and devise innovative solutions under pressure.

Additionally, strong demonstrated stakeholder management skills will be crucial to be successful in this role.

Preferred Skills
    • Previous exposure to rail transport systems, construction, and/or infrastructure projects.
    • Familiarity with Public Private Partnerships, consortium or JVs highly regarded.
    • Understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and industry best practices related to contract management and procurement.
