About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior ICT Engineer to join our program based in either Ed Parks SA, Canberra ACT or Glenbrook NSW, reporting to the Project Engineering Manager.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

You will as a member of a team be responsible for taking the lead in determining and guiding the processes, tools and methods used within your scope of work. Working across all aspects of a particular scope of work as either an analyst, architect, systems engineer, network designer or technology specialist.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Adhere to allocated cost, quality, and schedule budgets, or applicable SLAs.
  • Work autonomously to manage the identification and resolution of issues associated with the execution of ICT activities across the relevant scope of work.
  • Ensure collection and analysis of relevant ICT metrics to provide timely information on the status of the ICT program, taking appropriate corrective action as required.
  • Manage delivery of relevant products through the engineering lifecycle.
  • Define and maintain elements of the project's plans, and perform ICT tasks in accordance with those plans.
  • Develop Junior ICT Engineers within the team or the broader project team, as applicable.

About YOU

  • Bachelor's Degree in ICT or Systems Engineering.
  • Extensive working experience in a Systems Engineering or ICT related discipline.
  • Experience in providing guidance and expertise on the systems, applications, networks, requirements or concepts, as applicable, including to external stakeholders.
  • Understanding and experience of governance adherence in the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated skills in oral and written communications, systems analysis, critical thinking and problem solving with the ability to validate solutions against customer needs and requirements.
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
