About the role

We're seeking an Automation Engineer to bring expert coding and configuration skills to our tolling domain, specifically focusing on Core Tolling, Billing, and Collections applications.

As our Automation Engineer you will collaborate with internal teams and technical experts to ensure the seamless execution of automation requirements, adhering to established standards and addressing application needs.

Day-to-day, you will:

Design and develop new features and enhancements on the platform along with performing root cause analysis and defect remediation.Identify and implement performance improvements and other operational efficiencies to reduce operational costs and effort.Maintain and operationalise engineering code management within the Axway platform application domain.Conform to source code branching and merging strategies for Axway application platform.Maintain awareness of industry trends for the relevant technology stack.Provide input into other Core Tolling, Billing and Collections teams as they seek to implement user stories.Contribute to driving a culture of innovation across the organisation.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

Solid engineering background or a Bachelor’s degree in information technology (or similar)Proven experience in API Gateways (Axway, Nginx, Kong, Amazon Api Gateway etc.)AWS Cloud Experience (S3, RDS, IAM Auth)Good understanding of event driven architecture and integrating solutions requiring custom coding, FTP/SFTP, LDAP, Certificate based authentication and common ssh and encryption standards.Proven Experience with Automation Stacks utilising several programming languages (Java, Unix/Shell, PowerShell, SQL, Perl, Python, JavaScript, REST API)Understanding and experience in using the principles of Agile, CI / CD and DevSecOpsStrong experience with development tooling Jenkins; GitHub/Perforce; Eclipse; Artifactory; Ant & GradleHave experience writing code for large-scale production environments.Self-motivated and track-record of learning new technologiesStrong troubleshooting skills and creative problem-solving abilityStrong technical skills, can engage with our senior engineers and solution architects to contribute to technical plans and designs.Proven experience in Integration of software components and COTS software, experience in the software integration of complex software projectsExperience in the software integration of complex software projects
