About the company:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Officer to join an education body on a 3-month fixed-term contract, starting ASAP until the end of January 2025. This is a full-time working, Monday – Friday. The company is based on the edge of the CBD. The organisation offers flexible working, 3 days in the office & 2 from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support demographic and enrolment analysis and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Work with local councils and authorities to obtain necessary planning approvals.
  • Assist in identifying and analyzing new sites, including capital development.
  • Provide general planning advice.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in using GIS software (preferably QGIS).
  • Expertise in demographic analysis, enrolment forecasting, and statutory planning.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in provision planning at a strategic level and/or projects and knowledge of demographic trends and residential development in Melbourne and Victoria
  • Good interpersonal communication skills, and good formal presentation skills with the ability to communicate with all levels
  • Tertiary qualifications in Geography, Urban Planning, Mapping or Geospatial Science.
