Salary: $77,000 plus 11.5% superannuation

Our client, Vivid Route Pty Ltd, a trusted name in the engineering and fabrication work. specialized in Stainless Steel, Aluminium and Steel welding, Steel fixing, fabrication and formwork at construction sites, is looking for an experienced First Class Welder to join their growing team.

The client requires a professional and experienced Welder to perform welding work and the preferred candidates will have relevant previous experience as trade qualified welder and ideally have previously worked in engineering/manufacturing/ fabrication businesses.

You will be capable of reading and interpretating engineering drawings and fabricating to the dimensions and shapes that are detailed. You will liaise with the design engineers during fabrication detailing to ensure the items are capable of efficient manufacture. You may be required to travel to multiple sites across NSW and Victoria.

The job requires you to be physically fit and be able to work towards daily production targets. There is a great opportunity here for the right person to show their capabilities and grow. Neat, accurate work and an eye for detail are essential.

This is a full-time position and is available for an immediate start. You can work unsupervised, as well as in a workshop environment and in a safe manner. You will be able to prioritise jobs, self-motivate, work independently and as a team.

Minimum Requirements:

·      Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (or equivalent)

·      Minimum 2 years of experience as a First Class Welder

·      Strong understanding of welding and steel fabrication techniques

In this role your main responsibilities include:

·      Perform high-quality welding and fabrication of steel components in accordance with Australian standards

·      Perform MIG and TIG welding

·      Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications

·      Assist with onsite erection of steel structures

·      Ensure strict adherence to quality assurance processes

·      Collaborate with the team to meet project deadlines

·      Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting

·      Use measuring instruments to accurately align material

·      Inspect welds for accuracy

·      Perform key measurements and visual checks

·      Examine welds for width of bead, penetration and precision

·      Dress finished products by cleaning, polishing and filing

·      De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture

·      Follow, create and help maintain Welding Procedure Specifications

·      Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use

·      Troubleshoot broken areas

·      Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency

To be considered for this role you must have;

·      Structural welding and fabrication experience

·      A solid technical and mechanical aptitude

·      Ability to read and interpret drawings

·      Strict compliance with company policies and procedures

·      Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements

·      Good hand-eye coordination

·      Excellent fabrication and welding skills

·      Understanding of Workplace health and safety procedures
