Job Description

The CFO is responsible for the general management of the Finance, HR, Risk and Governance functions.

The individual will be a key member of the company's Executive Leadership Team and must work to achieve its long-term objectives; developing a sustainable profitable business and enhancing the lifestyle of Club Members.

Other responsibilities will also include-

  • Oversees the management of all the Club's cashflows including debtors, creditors, borrowings, staff payroll and cash investments. Ensures that appropriate internal controls are in place for control of all the Club's cash funds.
  • Oversees the preparation of daily, weekly, and periodic management reports as required for Management, Board & Committees
  • Preparation of year-end financial results, including management of the relationship with external auditors and completing the Annual Financial Report for distribution to the board and all members.
  • Oversee the financial management of all the Club's assets ensuring that their security, maintenance, depreciation, acquisition, and disposal is accurately recorded. Ensures strong capital planning approaches are implemented for the sustainable financial management of the Club is assured.
  • In collaboration with responsible Executive Leadership Team members, develop and implement annual department budgets (operating, cash flow and capital) which prescribe the financial performance of last year with expectations for the next five years.
  • Implementation of an appropriate regular internal audit processes over departmental activities and implementing timely reviews and corrective actions with management to achieve budgeted profitability
The Successful Applicant

The CFO will meet the following requirements-

  • CPA/CA qualified.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in an autonomous role in a small to medium business, including full finance management responsibility.
  • Demonstrable experience in cashflow management, budgeting and capital planning.
  • Strong focus on developing and growing team members.
  • Advanced excel reporting and Board report writing skills to clearly outline business requirements.
  • Previous experience working and reporting to a Board or Finance and Governance Committee.
  • Strong interpersonal and personal skills, including exceptional verbal communication skills.
