Golding currently seeks a Mining Surveyor to be based at our office located in Milton. Reporting to the Principal Mining Surveyor, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting mining surveying work for operations, bids and improvement.

This role will operate on a Monday to Friday roster, but flexibility will be required to cover Mining Surveyors on an 8:6 roster when required.

Regular travel to various mining project sites will also be required.

Key Task Types

  • Regular site travel to supplement and support project personnel, including short and long-term cover when required;
  • Conduct project surveying work in compliance to industry standards and legislative requirements;
  • Monitor the application and effectiveness of any assigned Mining System Sets to provide improvement recommendations;
  • Provide review of the activities of the Mining Discipline (all Mining Divisions) to recommend best practice to your Manager;
  • Provide technical knowledge and support for Operational Mining Technologies (eg. high precision guidance);
  • Work with your Manager and General Manager as required to develop the Plan for your Division annually;
  • Develop, maintain and improve a sound knowledge in the mining surveying and related fields; and
  • Provide technical input into SHE investigation reports as required.

Capability Requirements

  • Formal Surveying Qualifications (preferred);
  • Demonstrated proficiency in surveying skills and knowledge;
  • Demonstrated understanding of mining processes and related surveying requirements;
  • Sound social process skills and the ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships;
  • Demonstrated strong drive, energy and work efficiency;
  • Software experience using Agisoft Metashape, Maptek Vulcan, Maptek PointStudio, Deswik, ArcGIS Pro (highly desirable); and
  • Hardware experience with Trimble GNSS and Total Stations, DJI RTK/PPK Drones, Maptek Scanners (highly desirable).
