Field Embryologist

Nbryo is a Brisbane-based livestock reproduction technology company that is commercialising research in embryo transfer technology. We are in the research and development phase of a platform of technologies aimed to increase production, lower greenhouse gases, improve land use and impact the lives of smallholder farmers around the world. Our HQ and laboratory facilities are located in Eight Mile Plains.

The position

The full-time Brisbane based role support the laboratory functions of Nbryo, the Field Embryologist is responsible for assisting with field operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Search and classification of oocytes during Ovum Pick-Up (OPU) procedures;
• Loading of embryos in preparation for Embryo Transfer (ET);
• Assist in documenting field observation records;
• Assist in research in laboratory;
• Assist in calibration and maintenance of portable field equipment (e.g. nitrogen tanks, microscopes, portable incubators);
• Assist with the preparation of culture media prior to field operations;
• Prepare materials and equipment required ahead of travel;
• Maintain inventory consumables stock;
• Comply and support the Quality Management system in all aspects of your role;
• Travel required, with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications/skills/experience required:

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent required;
• Livestock handling of Bovines desirable;
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience required;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Details orientated;
• Organised;
• Microsoft Office suite preferred;
• Monday experience desirable;
• Driving license.
