As a Disability Support Worker, you're not just filling a role; you're helping people reach their goals. We welcome applications from workers new to the industry and experienced Support Workers. You will receive hands on training and support to ensure you are confident to work in the role.
Reporting to our NDIS Assistant Service manager you’ll:
- Provide tailored assistance to participants to develop their practical skills needed to enhance their independence, foster positive social interactions, and cultivate friendships.
- Work closely with participants to identify their career aspirations and develop actionable plans to achieve them e.g. job training and interview preparation.
- Prioritise building genuine relationships with participants, empowering them to take control of their lives.
- Support participants in their daily routines, actively promoting their career goals, and organising opportunities for social engagement within the community.

To excel in this role, you should have:
- A commitment to creating opportunity and supporting people to live great lives
- An understanding of the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet participant need
- High level attention to detail and the ability to record accurate file notes
- Cert III in related field (e.g. Community Services, Youth Work, Disability)
- Previous experience supporting youth or people with a disability would be beneficial
- First Aid training accreditation
Essential Criteria
To join our team, you'll need:
- An NDIS Workers Check (or a willingness to obtain one).
- A Working With Children Check (or a willingness to obtain one).
- A driver's license or reliable transportation.
- Willingness to understand and agree with Castle’s Vision, Purpose and Value statements and the ability to apply these values to your own work
