Up to 6 month contract 
$40.00 - $50.00p/h + super 

2 positions available hours/ days listed below:
Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday - 10am - 6pm weekdays and 10am-4pm weekends.
Monday - Friday 10am-6pm 

Position Overview: We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional library services to our community, fostering a love for reading, and promoting lifelong learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including circulation, reference services, and cataloging.
  • Develop and implement library programs and services to meet the diverse needs and interests of patrons.
  • Assist patrons with locating materials, conducting research, and utilizing library resources effectively.
  • Curate and maintain the library collection, including selecting new materials, weeding outdated items, and cataloging acquisitions.
  • Provide reader's advisory services by recommending books, articles, and other resources based on patrons' interests and preferences.
  • Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to promote literacy and educational initiatives.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in library science to enhance library services and operations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
  • Previous experience working in a library setting, preferably in a public library or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of library principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using library management systems, online databases, and other library-related technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patrons of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and fostering a welcoming and inclusive library environment.
  • Must have WWCC.
