Clinical Informatics Centre Data Analyst

  • Fixed term part time position 
  • Work with a range of key stakeholders across RMH, the Parkville EMR team and Parkville precinct partners
  • Be part of dynamic and agile team helping deliver RMH strategic goal of becoming a leading digital health service.

The Clinical Informatics Centre Data Analyst position is multifaceted, bridging the realms of healthcare and data science. You serve as a vital link between clinicians, researchers, and data, collaborating to identify and validate datasets. In addition to the cleaning and organisation of clinical data, you will use statistical analysis and visualisation techniques to answer specific questions, take deep dives into data, and generate new insights. You will work with data scientists to develop data pipelines for machine learning and assist in the validation of models. 

Your new role:

  • Develop knowledge of local data sets and existing clinical data models
  • Collaborate with clinician researchers to develop a data strategy to answer clinical questions
  • Complete data analyses for targeted and untargeted clinical questions 
  • Write, edit or critique technical reports and/or publications describing research results

About you:

  • A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field, such as computer science, data analytics, statistics, or a MPhil.
  • Three years’ experience working in a data analyst role or equivalent 
  • Experience working in a tertiary hospital environment and/or healthcare applications
  • Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail and demonstrated ability to use data to inform process and strategy
