An exciting opportunity has become available for a Mine Surveyor to join our team Technical Services Team.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Survey Superintendent this role will have a direct impact to the success of Yarrabee mine and the successful candidate will gain exposure to all areas of mining.  You will bring your experience and enthusiasm into the role and provide specialist advice and solutions in a geologically challenging and exciting workplace. The flat structure of Yancoal Australia will give you exposure to all levels of the business skills and knowledge.
This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual, who enjoys both engaging with broad stakeholders groups and working autonomously. We are looking for a self-starter who wants to take the next step in their career whilst working for a reputable mining company.

Experience and Qualifications

To be successful in the role you will have the following attributes:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Mine Surveying (Diploma or higher)
  • Current  Australian drivers' licence
  • Experience working in the mining industry
  • Highly developed skills pertaining to mining software packages and surveying practices
  • Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues.

Competent computer use with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent working understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations, particularly Recognised Standard 10 -Mine surveying and drafting.
  • Sound understanding of global positioning systems and total station use.
  • Well experienced in the provision of surveying applications within an Open Cut coal mining environment.
  • UAV experiences in Multi Rotor and VTOL (Preferred)
  • Well experienced in maintaining communication across several departments
