Multiple opportunities have come about for experienced Senior Quality Engineers within Sydney offices working for a highly reputable iconic Australian brand. The company is a high performing business with a large technical department offering a variety of digital products for their customers. Applicants coming from a financial background would be highly desirable.

The roles are 12 month rolling contracts, hybrid working close to Sydney CBD. The roles are available at a rate of $800 inclusive per day, with the intention for the contracts to be ongoing.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Quality Engineer actively contributes to the continuous improvement of the automated suite and the maturity of continuous deployment processes, while staying informed about industry trends and tools. The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining the overall quality of applications in the company’s domain. They assume a leadership role within the team, advocating for effective software quality practices and making significant contributions to the test automation framework. They also play a key role in non-functional testing, including security, accessibility, and performance evaluations.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or an equivalent technical field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ Years of experience in software engineering or a similar quality engineering role
  • 3+ years experience in designing and implementing automation testing for web-based digital applications, mobile apps, web services, and RESTful APIs.
  • Expertise in defining and executing testing strategies for large cross-functional software delivery initiatives.
  • Experience working with Monorepos; Turbo/PnPM
  • Working understanding of version control and continuous integration/deployment tools such as GitHub and Buildkite.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various testing techniques, including unit, integration, systems, end-to-end, UAT, and PVT
  • Demonstrated experience and a strong understanding of JavaScript; React, Next.js, Node.js, and the ability to write automated tests using tools like Cypress, Playwright, Puppeteer or similar frameworks.
  • Understanding of headless content management systems like Sanity.io and Contentful.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, DataDog, and New Relic.

Highly Preferable:

  • Proficiency in pair programming with Software Engineers and Quality Engineers to write automation tests.
  • Experience leading a team of Quality Engineers/Analysts.
  • Familiarity with the AWS cloud platform, including EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, and Cloudwatch.
  • Excellent skills in workshop facilitation, presentation, consultation, and negotiation.
