The Role
The ABC is looking for a Deputy Editor to produce and sub-edit digital and social content for audiences across the Indo-Pacific region, that aligns with ABC Strategy and objectives. You will lead a small team that creates and repurposes content to target audiences across Asia, in particular South Asia, Indonesia, and Countries in the Mekong Delta.
The Job
Under broad direction, help to develop a digital and social strategy that expands the ABC’s reach across Asia. Liaise with colleagues, drive and maintain the team’s digital and social media strategy, and contribute substantially to content planning, operations, and reporting. Generate articles and digital content to high standard that are relevant to the target audience and align with ABC Strategy and objectives. Edit and fact check digital and social content including, text, photos, graphics, audio and video; in line with ABC strategy and objectives. Establish and maintain strategic working relationships and engage with other ABC teams to identify stories and content that can be repurposed for publication on ABC’s international platforms. Oversee and perform community management and moderation of key ABC International social media accounts under the broad direction of the Digital StrategistPosition description:
About You
You are a highly experienced Deputy Editor with demonstrated substantial experience in applying sound editorial judgement for publishing digital content and providing feedback to content creators. You'll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to support and lead non-technical content makers produce digital and social content.
You’ll have:
Demonstrated significant experience covering people, issues and communities in Asia. Demonstrated substantial experience writing and editing high level digital and social content, and selecting and editing engaging audio, video, graphics and images. Highly advanced skills and experience using image editing software for creative social content making, including but not limited to; Canva and Adobe Creative Suite. Highly advanced knowledge and experience in video production, using a variety of digital content production and video editing software and tools such as the Adobe Premiere Pro or similar. Demonstrated understanding and passion to source and create authentic content which represents the broad diversity of communities across Asia, including stories that reflect a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds and Indigenous communities where editorially relevant.More Info:
