Working for this fast-growing technology and data services organisation the Applications Manager will see you manage and coordinate application support and system administration functions, ensuring efficient and effective implementation, maintenance, and optimization of applications and systems.

Key accountabilities

  • Manage and coordinate application and system changes and implementations
  • Develop and maintain applications processes, procedures, and solution documentation
  • Resolve complex applications issues and associated problems
  • Establishes strong partnerships with people across business areas, functions, and organisations. This includes executive, business managers and end users
  • Manage the procurement of applications, principles, and requirements, this also includes ongoing vendor management, contract reviews and KPI reviews
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics for all applications and systems to optimise functionality and enhance user satisfaction through effective performance management
  • Conduct assessments of emerging technology trends relevant to the application suite to guide strategic decision-making and sustain a competitive edge in the market
  • Lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across application support, system administration, and related processes to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and enhance overall user experience.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive plans for disaster recovery and business continuity specific to applications and systems, ensuring seamless operations and minimizing potential disruptions in critical situations

Skills, experience, and knowledge

  • Extensive experience working within application support roles
  • Excellent technical and application support knowledge and skills across a wide range of applications including the Microsoft suite
  • Strong application problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate courteously and effectively with a diverse range of staff
  • Ability to negotiate with consumers, stakeholders, and vendors to achieve system implementation, changes, and administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to regularly plan and track progress on work tasks, projects, and implementations
  • Experience in the development of business-as-usual processes, procedures, and documentation
  • Experience working across multiple business functions and all levels of stakeholder (including C-Level, Directors, Heads, Team Leaders, Managers, Operations, etc) engagement with the ability to support in driving business decisions
  • Ability to take ownership and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
