Position Details
St Columba’s School, Bayswater, is a co-educational primary school catering for approximately 500 students from Pre-Kindy to Year 6. The school has a rich history founded by the Mercy sisters. The school has strong values that underpin all that we do.
We are seeking an Education Assistant (Special Needs) to fill a temporary position (0.2 FTE) to support a student's personal care plan. This position is temporary pending workforce management.
Selection Criteria
The cover letter of applicants should address the following criteria:
• Be prepared to support the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education;
• Ability to form strong relationships with students;
• Must be willing to be trained in catheterisation for girls and be responsible for changing intermittent catheter throughout the day as per a personal care plan (professional training provided);
• Must be willing to assist students with toileting and nappy changes;
• A high degree of professionalism, confidentiality and initiative;
• Previous experience working with students with extensive needs would be advantageous.
Qualifications Required
Certificate III Education Assistant or higher.
