The Role

We are seeking expressions of interest for an experienced Civil Project Manager to join MACA, based in southeast Melbourne.

The role is responsible for managing all stages, from design through to construction and handover. The successful candidate will ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate all project allocated employees.
  • Provide civil project management expertise from project inception to completion, taking full responsibility for project performance and successful delivery.
  • Effectively manage the allocation of labour, equipment and materials to ensure project performance.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure that claims, securities, variations, disputes, sub-contractors and other contractual matters are properly managed in accordance with contract administration procedures.
  • Check/approve supplier and sub-contractor invoices prior to payment.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
  • Meet the specific requirements of the company’s quality system and ensure that all the personnel are familiar with those standards.
  • Ensure that non-conformances are being recorded and initiate correct action as necessary.
  • Ensure that inspection and test plans, checklists, instructions and procedures are prepared, reviewed, approved, distributed and updated as necessary.
  • Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and address issues as they arise to minimise delays and cost overruns.
  • Strive to establish a culture encompassing the vision and core values of MACA.
  • Actively participate and contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of MACA work practices.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in construction management, engineering, building, project management or equivalent.
  • Strong experience managing road infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated ability in meeting budgets and driving cost accountability.
  • Advanced computer literacy.
  • Safety training accreditation.
  • Australian C class driver’s licence.
  • White Card.
