About the role

This is a full time permanent opportunity located in Brisbane CBD.

The primary objective of this senior role is to review, analyse and support all aspects of the Settlements function. Through this the incumbent provides crucial support to the Settlements Manager - Energy and Financial Markets for the management of all physical and financial settlement obligations, in addition to the design, development and implementation of complex settlement engines, as well as playing a key role in the development of junior staff. On occasion, the Senior Settlements Analyst will be required to fulfill the Settlements Manager - Energy and Financial Markets duties in an acting capacity.

Key activities include:

Provide specialised advice in relation to planned IT system/data changes to ensure that these are aligned with market conventions and are able to be appropriately integrated within the operational processes and risk management practices. Define and articulate complex business requirements, plan, manage and undertake detailed user acceptance testing, data migration and carry out system training and develop appropriate process documentation for the Settlements Team. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies and consistent and demonstrated adherence to Stanwell’s governance principles. Settlement data stewardship (and support). System design, development and implementation, including development of settlement engines for complex deals. Develop and maintain appropriate analytical tools supporting Settlements’ processes.

About you

Strong experience in an Energy Settlements role (or similar), with demonstrated industry experience of Wholesale Electricity, Retail electricity, Gas and Environmental settlements. Extensive experience and understanding of energy derivatives. Strong knowledge of National Electricity Market and QLD Gas Markets.  Experience in advanced data analysis and the development of data analysis tools.
