ABOUT THE ROLE
Through ongoing growth and success at Ramelius, a Senior Exploration Geologist opportunity is now available on a 6-month Max Term contract. We have a range of projects across the Wheatbelt, Mid-West and Kalgoorlie regions. This role is offered on a 8 days on, 6 days off roster, FIFO ex Perth.
  
An opportunity to utilise your technical skills and lead / mentor a group of passionate young geologists eager to learn. Whilst gaining experience with brownfield and greenfield exploration and across different deposit styles.
  
Reporting to the Principal Exploration Geologist, this role will involve:

  • Support the Principal Exploration Geologist in assessment of prospects in order to make a discovery.
  • Conceptualise and generate exploration targets, develop work programmes ready for execution, and make recommendation if no further work required.
  • Manage field work programmes and site teams,
  • direct and coordinate the team’s activities and ensuring that safety is maintained.
  • Ensure technical decision points are met, work completed to geological standards, and data interpreted in timely manner.
  • Monitor work programs to ensure activities are completed within approved financial limits.
  • Provide in-field technical guidance and mentoring to site-based geologists.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with relevant obligations (tenure, heritage, health, and safety) of employees and contractors.
  • Ensure tenure is maintained in good standing, meeting all statutory obligations.
  • Provide timely data interpretations and reports to stakeholders.
  • Assist in identification and evaluation of new exploration opportunities.
  • Assist in recruitment of exploration employees.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, we would like to see;  

  • Tertiary level degree in Geology, Geological Science or similar.
  • Broad level of experience across a variety of mineral exploration environments, deposit styles and exploration stages.
  • Knowledge of relevant mining, health & safety, heritage, and tenure legislation.
  • Prominent level of attention to detail, time management & organisational skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software.
  • First aid certificate (Desirable).
  • A West Australian C class driver’s license (manual) and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance purposes.
