The SeniorCorporate Finance Analyst is a newly created opportunity in ourCorporate Financial Control team based at our Perth CBDOffices.

The purposeof this role is to manage the liquidity needs of Synergy andsupport the overall insurance strategy, facilitating optimalplacement of its insurance risk program. This role will also assistwith Synergy’s compliance with governance requirementsrelevant to wholesale energy trading where required. This positionwill ensure Synergy has the capabilities, capacity and flexibilityneeded to achieve its Strategy in the face of increasingly volatileand changing markets. 

Keyresponsibilities of the role include :

Ensure Synergy’s liquidity while managing consequent financial risks per the prescribed governance framework – including interest rate, foreign exchange, and treasury operational risks. Ensure optimal insurance coverage for Synergy across the appropriate risk categories while accounting for the increased market focus on Environmental, Social and Governance requirements and renewable project pipeline. Responsible for the timely delivery of high-quality treasury and insurance reporting to the relevant committees and board to support optimal decision making. Support Synergy’s compliance with internal wholesale trading governance requirements and external obligations, including the Renewable Energy Target liability and surrender process and any carbon reporting obligations as required.

Whatyou’ll bring:

Bachelor’s degree qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an equivalent discipline. Post graduate qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) will be highly regarded. Excel financial modelling skills, familiarity with SAP and experience with board level paper composition will be highly regarded. Past industry experience within the utilities and electricity market sector will be highly regarded. Experience in corporate treasury, insurance broker / underwriter environment or big four accounting firm while advantageous, is not essential.
