Join our team as a Handyperson at The Star Brisbane.   

The Star Brisbane, positioned at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct, will be Australia’s newest entertainment and leisure destination. Commencing a staged opening in 2024, The Star Brisbane will bring a range of unique entertainment options, world class hotels, dining, bars, luxury retail, gaming and a state-of-the-art Event Centre, transforming how people will play, shop and socialise in the river city.  

The Handyperson reports directly to the Property Operations Assistant Manager and is responsible for the general repairs on property whilst also assisting the trades people. It is also the responsibility of the Handyperson to deliver and pick up parts for the property. This is a fantastic opportunity where you can put your skills and knowledge to the test to deliver a thrilling new era for Property Operations.   

A few of your responsibilities    

  • Assist all trades as required 

  • Follow up to ensure preventative maintenance schedules are completed on all equipment in allotted time  

  • Ensure tools and equipment are in good running condition at all times and are properly stored and counted for  

  • Maintain a sufficient supply of all parts to ensure constant availability at all times  

  • Carry out work issued out by supervisors from start through to completion with minimum assistance 

What we will be looking for   

  • Thorough knowledge of general repairs and maintenance work  

  • A good eye for detail 

  • Previous experience in an environment with a high turnover of maintenance requests, such as hospitality would be highly regarded 

  • Strong communication skills 

About you   
 
The successful candidate will be regularly required to assist other team members on the job and as such will be a team player. The successful candidate will also have strong technical skills to assist them in carrying out general repairs and maintenance work.

About us  

The $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf Brisbane development is being delivered by Destination Brisbane Consortium – a joint venture led by The Star Entertainment Group alongside its partners.    

When complete, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane will deliver four new luxury hotels, more than 50 new food and beverage experiences, significant luxury retail, the restoration of nine heritage buildings and around 1,500 residential apartments.
