Helia, as Australia’s first Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI) provider, with over 50 years expertise in the Australian housing market are in the process of re-inventing ourselves.

We exist to accelerate financial wellbeing through home ownership, now and for the future. Our mission is to create innovative and tailored solutions in partnership with our customers. We aim to do this efficiently and conveniently, leveraging state of the art technology and data solutions.

Helia is one of Australia’s leading providers of lenders mortgage insurance, providing a range of capital and risk management solutions to some of Australia’s biggest (and smallest) lending institutions. Our mission is to help more Australians realise the dream of home ownership and we play a unique role in the housing market for that purpose.

We are looking for a Cyber Security Architect to uplift our information / cyber security management framework through the establishment of secure design practices of new initiatives and technologies, while supporting our customer and regulatory obligations.

  • Actively engage with agile squads to enable effective governance over secure application development and change, which should lead to a more self-sufficient DevSecOps mode of working.

  • Evaluate and design security solutions and architectures to ensure that systems, networks, and applications are adequately protected against cyber threats, adhering to security best practices and industry standards.

  • Reduce enterprise/application integration complexity while maintaining a secure posture.

  • Deliver risk analysis and capability maturity assessments, including periodic reviews of security capability using agreed upon security frameworks (e.g. NIST, CIS).

  • Facilitate the secure introduction of new technologies, change, opportunity, and innovation in the Security Practice.

  • Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting threat intelligence information to understand emerging threats and trends, and proactively implementing measures to defend against potential cyber attacks.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as Infrastructure, legal, compliance, and risk, to ensure a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity, and effectively communicating security-related issues, findings, and recommendations to key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in cyber security roles, with at least 5 of those years in a cyber technical design and architecture role.

  • A proven track record of supporting successful delivery of projects or services in cyber security.

  • Experience in identifying information risks and the application of the required controls.
