SUMMER INTERNSHIP Challenger Life Investments Team

Challenger is focused on providing customers with financial security for retirement. We do this by offering investment strategies that exhibit consistently superior performance, and by helping customers in retirement with safe and reliable income streams. As Australia’s largest annuity provider, we provide regular income payments to thousands of Australian retirees. Our lifetime annuities protect retirees from the risk of running out of money late in life.

  • Challenger is inviting applications for their 2024/2025 Summer Internship Program within the Life Investments Team.

  • The program is open to penultimate year Undergraduate/Master’s students from diverse backgrounds.

  • The 8-week paid internship program which will commence late November 2024 and from day one you will be involved in exciting projects to set you up for career success.

About the opportunity:

The internship opportunity sits within Challenger Life. Challenger Life is Australia’s largest provider of annuities and provides regular income to thousands of customers. We’re a multi-award-winning Life Company and have $24 billion in assets under management (as at 31 December 2023).

The Life Investment internship is focussed on learning and development, giving the successful applicant an opportunity to integrate into the broader investment team. Projects will include market research, return analysis and portfolio reporting tasks and range from ad-hoc to long term in nature. Aside from the chance to develop new skills, there will be the opportunity to expand your professional network.

Skills and experience:

  • Currently undertaking a tertiary qualification with strong GPA in the fields of Finance/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics/Econometrics/Engineering or similar.

  • Strong knowledge of MS reporting tools (including Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
