Your opportunity to join our team

In this role you will be supporting our Maintenance team in overseeing inventory supply chain management and perform critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct amount of items are in stock. We are looking for an experienced inventory controller to cover AM Shift and some weekend work.

Daily Tasks

  • Oversee inventory and supply chain management according to company guidelines
  • Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct amount of items are in stock
  • Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, including transfers and cycle counts
  • Liaise with Production and Planning departments to ensure adequate levels of inventory
  • Control the annual stocktake process, producing variance reports and investigate all stock issues to ensure stock accuracy
  • Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for discrepancies between stock and records
  • Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures in order to maximise efficiency and cut operations costs
  • Respond to sales inquiries and purchase orders; collect and analyse data to determine appropriate order quantities; process orders for shipment
  • Review operations schedules and production requirements to ensure timely order fulfillment
  • Track rates of accuracy, purchase, and return as well as defective items to inform quality control decisions
  • Prepare, generate, and file financial inventory reports; review reports monthly with management
  • Nurture positive relationships with internal and external suppliers and provide customer service as needed
  • Learn general duties completed by purchasing officer to provide shift cover when required.

You will bring to this role

  • Relevant Inventory Controller and Warehousing experience within a fast-paced environment
  • SAP (MM) and Maximo software experience with good working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to analyse data and create forecasts for future inventory needs
  • A working knowledge of GMP, HACCP and Food Safety
  • Exceptional communication skills, dealing with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to form effective working relationships
  • A high level of attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Advanced MS Excel, MS word and WMS experience
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Have an understanding on the general duties of a purchasing officer
