This position focuses on the delivery of operationally effective and efficient fleet management for the relevant Depot, as well as replacement and maintenance services to achieve the Company’s objectives.

Responsible for managing the day-to-day utilisation, repair, and maintenance of all heavy commercial fleet (bus and truck), as well as assisting the wider company in all fleet related matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership to the Depot’s workshop team/s, demonstrating excellence in staff supervision and a commitment to our corporate values
  • Manage and maintain the repair and maintenance programme’s for the fleet.
  • Liaise with the Workshop teams, vehicle repairers and insurance staff as required to ensure timely and acceptable repair of damaged vehicles
  • Ensure compliance with all QT / RTA vehicle inspections and schedules, ensure all repairs meet with Company and QT / RTA requirements.
  • Develop, maintain and proactively build business relationships with your stakeholders & Customers.
  • Develop a collaborative working relationship (both internally and externally), focusing on excellence in service provision and individual performance
  • Deal with day-to-day operational and HR issues. Escalate complex or sensitive issues to your manager as required.
  • Ensure timely reporting, and accurate documentation is maintained as required
  • Analyze and report on fleet performance
  • Manage the stores’ function and inventory to appropriate levels in conjunction with our spare parts team.
  • Assist the Management team to monitor the environmental vehicle performance, ensuring standards are monitoreD
  • Ensuring client reporting is completed in line with contractual commitments.
  • Actively engage is in internal investigations and customer investigations.
  • Always actively engaging in continues improvement of our fleet, workshops, and people.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Trade qualification, Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
  • Previous mechanical experience in providing maintenance and repair to and heavy commercial fleet (bus and truck).
  • Medium-rigid license essential, heavy-rigid license preferable.
  • Forklift license (preferable).
  • Leadership skills to motivate and facilitate work teams in the achievement of results
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skill
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skill
  • Ability to implement solutions decisively.
  • High level oral and written communication skills.
