We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced WHS&E Coordinator, with national coverage and support for our New Zealand operations.

As a key player in our organisation, you will be responsible for maintaining, implementing, and managing health, safety, and environmental systems to uphold compliance standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with all levels of the organisation to educate, recognise, and manage WHS&E risks, ensuring safe work practices are embedded and maintained. Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, this role offers a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance documentation in accordance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality statutory regulations.
  • Organise safety training and assist workers in implementing system improvements and corrective actions.
  • Manage all aspects of workers’ compensation, including return-to-work plans, in collaboration with line managers and management.
  • Update, review, and issue WH&S documentation for each project, including JSEA’s and SWMS.
  • Complete WHS&E documentation for prequals and tenders, uploading details for specific online databases as required for projects.
  • Undertake site audits to ensure compliance with legislation, WHS policies, and procedures, including regular visits to construction sites and weekly time spent in the factory/workshop.
  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of incident data and KPI reporting.
  • Prepare and submit reports to management as required.

About You: To thrive in our team, you should possess:

  • Cert IV or equivalent in WH&S.
  • Return-to-Work coordination experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly with Excel and Word.
  • The ability to make critical decisions and experience developing policies and procedures.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence externally and internally.
  • Highly organised and process-driven, remaining calm under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and protect confidential information.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate outcomes without confrontation.
  • A passion for safety and experience embedding a safety culture in an organisation.
