Laboratory Technician

We have a Fixed Term, Full Time, Laboratory Technician position available. Based at our Rowland Flat and Richmond Grove sites on Ngadjuri Land in the beautiful Barossa Valley.

You would be a member of the Winemaking Operations team, contributing to the timely and accurate analysis of wine, spirit, Ready to drink (RTD) beverages, and juice.

Your unique contribution

You will be responsible for the timely and accurate analysis of wine, spirit, Ready to Drink (RTD) beverages, and juice. You will learn are variety of chemical and microbiological techniques to contribute to the efficient production of our brands. You will be assigned various tasks and responsibilities under the direction of the Analytical and Microbiology Team Leaders

You will add value to the team through:

• Collection of samples using variety of different techniques, performing analysis, and communicating results

• Performing chemical testing using a wide variety of instrumental and classical techniques like pH/TA by auto titration, sugar testing by discrete auto analysers and alcohol by Near Infrared (NIR)

• Performing microbiological analysis

• - yeast counts by hemacytometer and

• - total plate counts by membrane filtration

• Practical understanding of chemical handling

• Ensuring that quality data is accurate and reliable at all times

• Complying with relevant legislation and following Company’s standard operating procedures

Your perfect blend of Talent

• Computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook applications.

• Experience in a winery &/or laboratory environment.

• Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry/Microbiology or relevant experience highly regarded

• Excellent Communication skills
