About The Role

As the Superintendent Compliance, you will support the Underground Mine Manager and the broader leadership team to ensure safe and reliable operations. Your ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of key stakeholders across the BHP business will be integral to your success.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Supervisor the Emergency Services, Control Room, Dust and Fire Officers, and statutory trainees.
• Regulator interactions and incident investigations and notifications.
• Develop relationships with external stakeholders including emergency services.
• Assist the Underground Mine Manager ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Embedding BOS principles across the team.
• Conducting regular leader-led improvement reviews/assessments to support teams to capture, track and implement improvement ideas for all routine activities on site.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced operational leader ideally with a background mining operations. You are extremely output focused with a demonstrated track record in mentoring and coaching others to achieve outstanding results. You possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective business partnerships.

As the successful candidate, you will ideally possess the following:

• Demonstrated experienced in a similar level role - ideally 2 years in a shift leadership role in an underground coal mine.

• Solution focused with the ability to work well under pressure.
• A genuine passion and drive to create an inclusive workplace which is free from harassment, discrimination and victimisation.
• The ability to work effectively with others and provide constructive feedback where appropriate.
• Queensland 2nd Class certificate of competency and practicing certificate or mutual recognition
• Queensland 1st Class certificate of competency Certificate of competence and practicing certificate, or in the process of, or planning to study towards obtaining the competency (highly desirable).
