ABOUT THE ROLE 
The National School of Education is one of two national schools in the Faculty of Education, Philosophy and Theology. The National School is based on two distinct campuses in Fremantle and Sydney. The School of Education delivers practical, ethical and industry-focused teacher education, with a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs on offer.
The role encompasses the organisation and development of the Special and Inclusive Education courses nationally. This position reports to the National Head of School and involves lecturing in teaching pedagogy and Special and Inclusive Education.
 
Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate national Graduate Certificate in Education (Special and Inclusive Education) and Master of Education (Special and Inclusive Education) programs.
  • Supervise Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students.
  • Coordinate and develop Special and Inclusive Education courses at undergraduate and post graduate level.
  • Teach and deliver units at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Collaborate with other academic staff and build relationship to ensure consistency and quality in programs.
  • Attendance at department and faculty meetings.

ABOUT YOU

  • Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University. 
  • Tertiary qualification at the Doctoral level in a relevant discipline area.
  • Proven extensive primary or secondary school teaching as well as tertiary teaching experience.
  • A strong record of research outcomes including peer reviewed publications and research grant funding.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence evidenced by outstanding contribution to teaching, research and or profession.
  • Demonstrated creative achievement, professional contributions and/or contributions to technical achievement.
  • Eligibility for teacher registration/accreditation in Australia.
