About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists to share your communications expertise in digital media and join our External Affairs team on a 12-month limited term contract.

In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of impactful digital communications and engagement strategies to help protect and enhance Alcoa’s reputation and social licence in Australia. Your ability to understand business goals, stakeholder needs and advise on digital communications opportunities and risks will be key in delivering positive outcomes.

In this role you will:

Create content for Alcoa’s social media channels including text, images, videos, and graphics in collaboration with colleagues across the business.

Identify, develop, implement and refine digital marketing campaign strategies to effectively promote organisational and resource unit objectives.

Collaborate with teams globally to develop comprehensive content strategies and streamline activities.

Manage content approvals, scheduling, promotion, monitoring, issue management, and reporting.

Stay up to date on trends and changes in the digital market to identify and recommend improvement aligned with the business strategy.

Deliver other brand and communication activities including photography, video production, website, intranet event management, merchandise and media releases.

What you can bring to the role:

Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Media, or related field.

Experience within a similar communications role with experience in developing digital campaigns and strategies.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with a creative vision for content creation.

An ability to plan, manage and balance multiple projects and priorities.

Knowledge of the resources sector and Alcoa’s geographical and socio-political setting in WA would be advantageous along with exposure to risk and issues management.

Experience working with various tools including the MS Office Suite, Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud

A current WA Driver’s License with flexibility to travel to other locations when required.
