Public Sector People are working with a QLD State Government Department to recruit an experienced AO6 Finance Officer/Business Services Officer. The initial contract for this role is until end of Feb 2025 with a high likelihood of extension.

  • $75.75 per hour plus super & Weekly Pay
  • Brisbane CBD Location
  • Start Date: 2nd December 2024 or earlier

About the Role:

This pivotal role provides crucial financial and HR support to our organization, ensuring seamless operations through expert budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. You will work closely with various teams, providing advice and solutions, while adapting to changing business needs and maintaining compliance with legislative and policy requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality financial management services including budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting for complex and high-value programs.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of finance, human resources, and information technology processes, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Effectively communicate complex financial information and analysis to various stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate collation, management, and control of financial data.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Adapt to changes and offer solutions in fast-paced environments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Extensive experience coordinating the budget process, particularly within government frameworks.
  • Strong capabilities in providing financial data analysis and supporting reports.
  • Proven experience in financial control management and ensuring accurate transaction recording.
  • Knowledge of procurement, financial processing, and contractor management, especially in line with Queensland Government policies.
  • Expertise in offering HR process advice, including recruitment and reporting.
  • Experience managing assets, IT systems, and records, with a focus on business solutions.
  • A track record of preparing detailed reports, submissions, and briefing notes.
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship management and financial management support.
