The Financial Accountant, Accounting Operations is primarily responsible for supporting the Senior Financial Accounting Manager in the timely and accurate completion of internal financial functions and reports including Balance Sheet and Bank reconciliations, Asset Management, update of lease expense forecast as well as month-end journals and utility accrual control.
Responsibilities

General

· Provide support to the Senior Manager, Financial Accounting to effectively manage all financial accounting transactions including banking administration, credit cards and cashflow management.

· Contribute to effective financial period closures.

· Provide effective communication and completion of Global requirements for accounting for the APAC region.

· Implement process improvements and efficiency including contribution to Global technology initiatives.

· Manage the bank account controls to ensure integrity of access to bank accounts and credit card facilities.

· Collaborate with all functions with finance with APAC and Globally.

Accounting

· Contribute to the month end process, ensuring month end and year end cut offs are accurate and comply with Foot Locker Accounting policies and relevant US GAAP and local statutory requirements.

· Support audit requirements activities including SOX compliance, quarter end and year end.

· Contribute to timely & accurate execution of the Merchandise, Expense and Lease Accounts Payable functions for APAC, maintaining strong vendor relationships to facilitate regular vendor settlement processing.

· Contribute to the maintenance of the sub ledger, timeliness, and accuracy of data input, managing payments & monitoring cash flow impacts, and aged item resolution.

· Work with the Global team to ensure Asset Registers are up to date and capital accruals are cleared.

· Complete/execute of the general ledger accounts allocated to the role, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations and month end journals & accruals (including freight and credit cards).

· Contribute to the compilation of detailed records to contribute to the timely and accurate execution of external Statutory returns including GST, FBT, Group (Income) Tax, and oversee year end statutory audit process and lodgments with relevant agencies in each jurisdiction.

· To monitor and adhere to the relevant legislative, regulatory, licensing, insurance, ethical, corporate governance, and industry standards for corporate & retail entities in Pacific.

· Ensuring processes are properly documented and that the documentation is maintained.


Qualifications

· Accounting / Business Certification or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

· 3-5 years related work experience

· Fluent in English (verbal & written)

· Advanced MS Excel skills

· Potential to grow within the finance discipline

· Clear and effective communications skills

· Flexible and open to new ideas

· Leadership skills

· Team player with service-oriented attitude
