About the role
Alma Road Community Care unit (ARCC) is the residential rehabilitation facility for Alfred Mental and Addiction Health. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced medication endorsed enrolled nurse who would like to gain experience in the community and join an established and supportive team.
To be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrated understanding of the recovery model and will apply this model in practice. You will also have relevant knowledge and demonstrated skills in managing safety, mental state assessment, care planning and the capability to provide responsive direct care and evidence-based interventions to support clients participating in the program.
You will work a rotating roster over 24 hours, 7 days a week and will be required to consult, liaise and negotiate with patients, carers, family members and other professionals.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Registration with AHPRA in Enrolled Nursing and holding a current practicing certificate
- Medication administration endorsement
- Demonstrated skills in risk assessment, mental state assessment, care planning and knowledge of acute and rehabilitation psychiatry nursing care and practice
- A current driver’s licence is essential
- Comprehensive understanding of key aspects of Mental Health and Well Being Act (2023) and other relevant legislation.
- A high performance, team player who is customer focussed, motivated and enthusiastic
Desirable
- Knowledge of running groups
- Knowledge of physical health interventions in a mental setting or and have interest in this area
- Experience of working in a community setting
