Our client, a large QLD Government Department, is seeking to engage an experienced Senior Business Analyst to promote best practice business analysis disciplines across a range of processes and functions to optimise performance and contribute to the effective delivery of desired business outcomes and current Information Management System Project.
About the Role
This position will be part of a small team involved in the delivery of key Business initiatives, which are currently included on our ICT rolling program of work. You will initially be undertaking detailed analysis, delivery and implementation of the current Mobile Compliance Information System (MCIS) project.
This project will clearly define the requirements and implement a solution that better supports the business' compliance activities and evidence-based decision making.
In the role of Senior Business Analyst, you will promote best practice project management and business analysis disciplines across a range of processes and functions to optimise performance and contribute to the effective delivery of desired business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide support to the project manager and contribute to the project governance process from initiation through to project closure aligning to PRINCE2 governance, internal PMO requirements and adherence to external assurance processes.
* Lead the management and delivery of the following key project areas:
o Business requirements (Functional + Non-Functional)
o Business process documentation and mapping
o Data standards and data process capture
o Solution assessment analysis
* Work closely with key internal and external clients to gain a strong appreciation of their business requirements in order to take ideas and concepts and transition these into achievable project deliverables.
* Provide authoritative specialist advice and guidance to senior management across multiple stakeholder groups, including the operational requirements (for example, what needs to happen, and how much effort it will take) to achieve stated deliverables successfully.
* Prepare and present necessary project documentation to successfully progress the project through the QGEA gated assurance process, including submission to relevant boards and the Information & Systems Committee.
* Contribute to the day-to-day management of all aspects of the project (Time, Cost, Quality and so on) for the implementation of significant changes in business functions and processes, systems, roles and responsibilities.
* Contribute to the proactive risk and issue management of the project to ensure that impacts are minimal.
* Share knowledge and experience with the project team to enable skills development and continuously improved quality outcomes.
Desirable Requirements:
* Proven and extensive experience in the role of a Senior Business Analyst in a complex working environment
* 10+ years experience as a Senior Business Analyst
* 5+ years experience with solutions design and delivery focused projects
* 5+ years experience in working on projects within a formal Gated Assurance practice process (knowledge of the QGEA Gated Assurance Framework for ICT initiatives)
* Business process and business analysis certifications would be advantageous

8 Hours/day - 40 Hour working week.
