Overview
Mount Barker District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital is seeking a Midwife to provide midwifery care to women in the Maternity Department at Mount Barker Hospital. As a Midwife, you will participate in assessing women’s needs and planning, implementing and coordinating appropriate care and service delivery. Working in partnership with women, you will respect and support their right to self- determination in the life processes of pregnancy, birthing and parenthood. In Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network, we have established the continuity of care practice as standard. Dedicated to holisitc midwifery, we will empower you to deliver the best possible care, with more hands-on involvement. Knowing that midwifery with Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network is more than help with birthing, you will be able to go on a journey of care together with the women in your community. Mount Barker District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care for adults and children by local general practitioners to specialist surgical, obstetrics and outpatients. We provide antenatal care with Obstetricians, GP/Obstetricians and Midwives through pregnancy continuum, offering labour and birth from 37 weeks gestation with a 24 hour emergency theatre.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a team and prioritise workload, you will be creative, innovative and flexible in your approach to midwifery.
