Our services include Gambler’s Help City and Inner North (offering therapeutic and financial counselling, community education and venue support) and a generalist financial counselling program (providing financial counselling in various locations around Melbourne).
About the roleWe are seeking a values-driven and proactive Senior Gambler’s Help Therapeutic Counsellor to provide educative and therapeutic counselling to individuals, couples, families and groups utilising a variety of intervention methods and strategies.
Reporting to the Manager, this is a fixed-term (until June 2025), part-time (30.4 hours per week) position based in Melbourne, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 6.
Please note that applicants must be registered in accordance with the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009 or have membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or have membership of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
You will successfullyProvide supervision and clinical guidance to the Therapeutic counselling team.
Provide therapeutic counselling to problem gambling clients and their significant others.
Provide education, training and professional development to health and welfare providers who may meet people experiencing gambling-related impacts.
Participate in planned service promotion activities and group work.
Tertiary qualifications in psychology or social work or other related disciplines (mandatory).
Relevant experience in a social service environment.
A current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
Registered in accordance with the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009 or have membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or have membership of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
