About Austin Health Community Rehabilitation Services:

Our Community Rehab Services team is a large interdisciplinary team providing home, telehealth and centre based therapy to a broad range of patient populations. This dynamic position may be based across both Repatriation and Royal Talbot campuses.

About the role

As a Grade 2 Physiotherapist in the Community Rehab Services team, you will be carrying a varied caseload mix of community clients such as neurological, orthopaedic, aged care, amputee or general rehabilitation clients. 

A regular day will see you:

  • Work with the interdisciplinary team to plan, discuss and treat clients
  • Conduct individual and group treatment sessions that are centre based, telehealth, in the home or in the client's local community
  • Provide a goal centred and client centred treatment program
  • Be involved in team meetings, PD and quality projects

About you

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

  • Educational Qualifications and Training
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or equivalent.
  • Current National Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)

Experience

Minimum 3 years clinical experience, including working in the area of adult rehabilitation such as aged care, neurological and musculoskeletal physiotherapy 

Specific Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with people at all levels and effectively in both written and verbal form.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health, disability, adjustment issues and group dynamics for a diverse group of rehabilitation clients, their families and significant others.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clients, their families, the clinical team and other hospital and community based health professionals.
  • Demonstrated organisational ability in time and caseload management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and flexibility.
  • Demonstrated ability in service development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated commitment to client focus and interdisciplinary approach to service provision.
  • Awareness of safe practice when working at the centre, at people’s homes and in the community.
  • A commitment to self-learning and professional development and to ensuring clinical knowledge is current and actively integrated in clinical practice
  • Evidence of a current driver’s license
  • High level of experience and competent computer skills in MS Office applications including MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Commitment to quality, best practice and environmental safety
