Spring Hill Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a creative, organised and dynamic Library Officer to join our team.

As the successful applicant you should be highly motivated, energetic and possess the qualities needed to promote an inclusive, vibrant and engaging learning space, connecting the library to every classroom. You will ideally possess excellent customer service principles and practices, high level communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative manner. You will work with the English Leadership Team to support whole school initiatives and promote a love of reading.

In the role of Library Officer, you administer library systems, ensure library records are up to date as well as whole school resources lists are maintained and processed efficiently so they are accessible and available. Experience using Oliver 5 and Compass would be an advantage. You will engage with the school community assisting students of all ages to access resources for enjoyment and to support their learning. You will order resources in collaboration with staff and will be responsible for managing the library budget.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

Good verbal and written communication skills, including application of customer service principles and practices. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment. Ability to use computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spread sheets and word processing. Experience in providing administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
