We think it should be. No doubt you’ve started thinking about your career options for 2025 - you’re probably checking out the big employers in the graduate market. We aren’t big, but we are kind of mighty.

We are an independent statutory authority that administers the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and other Acts. We work to promote effective competition and fair trading in the marketplace to benefit consumers, business and the community, and efficiency in the delivery of certain infrastructure services.

Framed like that, we don’t sound very exciting. But our work impacts the lives of nearly every Australian. We work to make Australia a better place to live and that’s a pretty special thing.

  • GAPS A starting salary of $71,515 per annum from 3 February 2025, agency salary increase from 13 March 2025 to $74,233, advancing to GAPS B, $80,643 per annum in November 2025 and $93,004 upon successful completion of the program in June 2026
  • likely finishing the program on APS 5 Salary
  • challenging rotations across various Divisions
  • ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • flexible working conditions, including the ability to work part-time (minimum 30 hours per week), minimum 2 days per week in the office with regular opportunities to network, socialise, share experiences and develop relationships

In addition to the benefits of the graduate program, as an ongoing employee of the ACCC you will also be eligible for:

  • an attractive remuneration package, including 15.4% superannuation and annual salary reviews based on performance
  • excellent leave benefits, including:
    • four weeks of annual leave and sick leave per year (pro-rated for part time employees)
    • the opportunity to purchase additional annual leave
    • degendered paid parental leave so both parents are able to access 18 weeks following birth, adoption or permanent fostering (by 26/27)
    • First Nations cultural leave (1 day leave each year for NAIDOC, 6 days over 2 years for cultural and ceremonial purposes
    • Cultural leave of 3 days per year for essential religious or cultural obligations
  • office shutdown between the Christmas and New Year period where employees are absent from work without having to use leave
  • flexible working conditions, including options to work part-time and access to our flex scheme

Applications close 11:00pm (AEST) Monday, 10 June 2024. Assessment centres will take place in July, with offers made to successful applicants from August/September 2024.
